During the last two months, from mid-July to September 2011, I have been working as a USFWS volunteer monitoring seabirds. Our location was East Amatuli Island of the Barren Island Cluster, located 60 miles SW of Homer, AK between the Kenai Peninsula and Kodiak Island.
The following five entries detail my accounts of my experience working with common murres, tufted puffin, and fork-tailed storm petrels in addition to thoughts and musings on living on East Amatuli.
